Moving with Self Control

Moving in Self Control Hi guys, I know I’ve been super inconsistent. My daily devotion has really turned into a monthly one (I’m going to do better I promise.) Slow and steady wins the race, so here I am. Lately, I have been looking into myself a lot when it comes down to characteristics that I have and certain personality traits. Every once in a while I like to take the moment to write down things about myself that I want to get better at, along with things in which I have been getting better at because to me it is a major part of life- self reflection.  Self reflection is the meditation or serious thought about one's character, actions or behavior, and is one thing that I feel many people lack and can be a major setback for not just growth in our individual selves but also for the people around us. So for today, that is my first goal to you, take the time out to think about not just your aspects and characteristics physically but on a deeper level spiritually. Take the time to ...

Submitting to Obedience and Taking on Your Assignment

Submitting to Obedience and Taking on Your Assignment Hey guys so for the past week I have been debating and trying to decide on what the next topic I wanted to write about. It’s always so complicated being that having a relationship with God is ultimately ever-changing and constantly evolving. There are constantly things that are being shifted in my life and different events always happening.  Figuring out a topic is always something that is difficult for me because there is also so much that God has been changing about myself, and being that I was coming from a place where a year ago I was somewhat “lost” with my relationship with him. It seems as if everyday there is something God is either teaching me about myself, or revealing something new to me. Lately, it’s been like “where do I start?” Today I decided to write about his timing and the importance of not only preparing but being able to listen and be obedient with everything, even the little things. Something th...

Faith Over Fear

Faith Over Fear Hi again. I hope that everyone’s day is filled with lots of love and peace. Today I woke up and had it deep in my thoughts about the idea of faith. I know that before in one of my recent blogs I touched on the aspect of having faith over circumstances but it is not just about having it through circumstances it holds much more power than that.  When the word came to my mind today, my first instinct was to look up the definition ( I do that often) just to see what exactly it truly means. I found that the definition is “the complete trust in confidence in someone,” and when I read the word “complete” it made me think about the simple ways in which I move when it comes down to not just giving myself to God fully, allowing God to move in my life through faith.  The first idea that came to my mind was the story of Peter, and his faith when walking on water. I then began to think about the power that he was able to receive and the ability of him to be able to...

Building Your Foundation

Building Your Firm Foundation  Hello beautiful souls, in my recent blogs, I touched on different topics all in which I hope filled, encouraged, and uplifted you but I realized that I failed to even integrate prayer within any of them. What is devotion without prayer? So, today I have a small prayer for you. Dear Lord, thank you for the things that you have given us. Thank you for the things that you have in store ahead of us. I thank you for the people that you have placed in the lives of us, and for continuing to protect them. Today I ask that you not only fill me, but you also fill up the people around me with your spirit. Give us strength in circumstances where we may be weak, give us peace in the uncertainty, and continue to guide us and build us up daily into the person that you have designed and created us to be. Help us move in love, in compassion, in grace, in mercy and in confidence in your word. We thank you for choosing us, loving us, never leaving us, and for con...

Faith Over Circumstances

Faith Over Circumstances Jayde Grant  Hi again, it’s me. I’ve been trying really hard to stay consistent with these devotions everyday, but I’ve been dealing with a writer's block for the past couple of days so please have grace on me. I always feel like I have so much to say, if you know me I can talk for days, especially on things that I am passionate about.       Within the past few days the struggle with me has been what to write on, because there are so many topics and so much good that I can really speak on when speaking about God. I then realized, that is why it's “daily” devotion, and just like life I need to take it day by day. So that is the first thing I want to say today- whatever your circumstances are right now, take it day by day.  Take a breath and breathe ( because you deserve it.)  Well, I prayed, and the first topic that came to my mind was faith. Why? Because without faith we have nothing, not even with our relationship with God b...

Living Through Love

Living Through Love   Jayde Grant  Today’s devotion was inspired by love. Not my love, but the people around me who constantly build me up, encourage me, and continue to pour into me every day- the one’s who show up for me even on my worst days. It is their love that keeps me going, not only allowing me to feel, but also exemplifying the form of love that I want to pour back into the world around me. Without an example, without receiving love, and without being surrounded by love it is extremely difficult to give it out. Pouring into others requires many times to also be the person being poured into, in saying that today I appreciate those who do so.  In order to have healthy relationships, it is important to create a cycle of give and take. The same person that pours into you, may be needing that same love, inspiration, and support today. Today I challenge you not only to acknowledge the individuals around you who constantly are anchors of positivity, but I al...
